Hey Wellness on Screen fam
Thanks for watching Episode #1 of our Ted Lasso breakdown. We dove into how Ted hides his panic

attacks behind humor and positivity — and what that teaches us about anxiety in real life.

As promised, here’s a quick guide with extra resources, plus some bonus tips to help you (or someone you care about) manage anxiety when it hits.

When Panic Shows Up Out of Nowhere

Panic attacks can feel terrifying — racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, like you’re “not in your body.” The truth? They’re not dangerous, but they are your body’s alarm system going off too loud.

Quick Tips (Building on Episode #1)

  1. Name it to tame it – Say to yourself, “This is a panic attack. It will pass.” Reminding your brain you’re safe turns down the volume.
  2. Box breathing – Inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat until your nervous system chills out.
  3. Ground yourself – Look around and name 5 things you see, 4 things you feel, 3 things you hear, 2 things you smell, 1 thing you taste.
  4. Move it out – Shake your hands, walk a lap, stretch — movement signals safety to your body.
  5. Phone a friend – Reach out. Panic shrinks when we stop facing it alone.

Ted Lasso Takeaway

Ted’s panic attacks don’t define him — and yours don’t define you. They’re part of the story, not the whole thing. The best way through anxiety is practice, patience, and sometimes reaching out for backup.
